My name is Debby Carey and I was born and raised in sunny Arizona. I spent my elementary years in Paradise Valley School District and graduated from high school in 1987. I went on to ASU where I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Communication, then continued on to earn a Masters in Elementary Education. After graduating I worked for a locally owned produce company for several years before realizing my true calling was in teaching and began the interviewing process.
I have been teaching for 8 years now, 4 years in Kindergarten, 3 years in third grade, and 1 year as a Reading Specialist. I taught in the PV school district for 3 years, then took a couple of years off to be with my children. We moved to beautiful Desert Hills so I decided it would be wonderful to work close to home and applied to work in the Deer Valley School District. I am so happy I chose Desert Mountain. I LOVE teaching Kindergarten and find it to be the most rewarding career I could ever ask for.
I have been married to Russ for 8 years and have two children whom both attend Desert Mountain. I have a 6 year old son, Justin, who is currently in 1st grade, and a 5 year old daughter, Emily, who will begin Kindergarten in the fall of 2009, and no - she will not be in my class! 
I enjoy reading, exercising (not really, but I sure am trying!), spending time with my family, going to the movies, and fortunately, I truly enjoy my career. I can't imagine doing anything else!
